BCD Travel invests heavily in Brazil
New joint venture enhances service levels in ‘gateway to Latin America’
ATLANTA, Oct. 22, 2013 – A new joint venture agreement between BCD Travel and its partner in Brazil positions the travel management company for growth in Latin America’s largest economy. With the agreement, BCD Travel takes a controlling interest in a newly established Brazilian company.
Doing business as BCD Travel, the new Brazil operation will employ about 300. Investments will result in enhanced service and better data for clients. For example, call center infrastructure will be upgraded and new workflow management implemented and training and development improved.
“This investment creates a strong presence in a market where our clients need to be,” said Barbara Blue, BCD Travel president for Latin America. “The new joint venture allows us to enhance our product and service offerings in Brazil and grow our business in a key emerging market.”
The largest economy in Latin America and eighth largest in the world, Brazil provides significant opportunities for companies doing business there. The country has the world’s fifth largest population, with more than 200 million people.
