John Snyder named among top 25 most influential executives in business travel

UTRECHT, The Netherlands – Dec. 3, 2019 – Business Travel News (BTN) has named BCD Travel President and CEO John Snyder one of the 25 Most Influential Executives in the business travel industry at the publication’s Business Travel Trends & Forecasts event in New York. This is the second time that Snyder has been named to the list.

“My inclusion among BTN’s 25 Most Influential Executives reflects the efforts of our 13,800 employees across the globe who are driven to make BCD the world’s most trusted and innovative travel management company,” Snyder said. “We continue investing in our people and technology to improve service and bring evolutionary solutions to the corporate travel industry.” BCD reinvests over 40% of earnings back into the company, most of which goes to enhancing and expanding its digital platforms.

BTN’s annual list, which does not rank honorees, recognizes industry leaders behind the year’s biggest innovations, mergers and acquisitions, and other newsmaking events. BTN—which provides business travel and meeting professionals with news, analysis and research—has published the compilation for over three decades.

Central to Snyder’s recognition was BCD Travel’s role in the continual innovation and expansion of SolutionSource®, BCD’s platform for third-party travel technology solutions. The SolutionSource Marketplace, aimed at business travel managers and sourcing executives, provides visibility into vetted, innovative third-party solutions that easily integrate with travel programs. This gives travel buyers quick access to expansive technologies in key categories including: risk management, price monitoring, flight disruption, program optimization, and more. The SolutionSource Developer Hub gives developers access to BCD APIs to support innovation around new technology solutions.

In honoring Snyder, BTN also noted BCD Travel’s August acquisition of Adelman Travel Group, one of the largest full-service travel management companies in North America. Founded in 1985, Adelman has a staff of 300 and total sales of US$675 million—with offices in California, Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Wisconsin, home to its Milwaukee headquarters. The purchase followed a series of BCD investments to grow business, extend its global network and increase client access to the latest innovations for their travel programs. In July, BCD also took controlling ownership of its partner in Japan, one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most important markets for corporate travel.

BCD Travel founder John Fentener van Vlissingen also has been included on BTN’s Most Influential list twice—most recently in 2018.
