BCD Travel recently surveyed more than 100 travel buyers and almost 1,800 business travelers to gauge the importance of environmental sustainability in business travel. While 82% of companies have sustainability goals in place, only 45% have targets for sustainable business travel. Furthermore, only 20% of business travelers are aware of their company’s sustainable travel goals.

BCD Travel today announced the launch of global guest travel management solution, BCD Invite. The digital tool is designed to simplify the time-consuming process of managing guest or “unprofiled” travelers in a program.

According to a recent BCD Travel survey of 164 travel buyers worldwide, the importance of travel and expense spend management has increased in priority, reaching its highest level since 2020. In 2023, 88% of buyers regarded payment & expense management as “very important” or “extremely important,” compared to 76% in 2021.

Stephan Baars this week assumed the role of BCD Travel president and CEO. Having previously served as the company’s global CFO for 11 years, he left BCD to become CEO of BORON, the private investment company of BCD founder John Fentener van Vlissingen. Baars returns with a vision of building on the company’s success.
