BCD drives industry transition to real-time travel data distribution across the corporate travel ecosystem

Travel management company (TMC) accelerates move from queue-based processing to real-time travel data streaming to deliver instant booking, ticketing and NDC updates directly into servicing environment

UTRECHT, The Netherlands, Oct. 20 , 2026 – BCD Travel today announced a major milestone in its ongoing work with Amadeus and Sabre to modernize how travel data moves across the corporate travel ecosystem. Through close collaboration with both technology partners, BCD has begun a platform wide shift from traditional queue-based data collection to modern, cloud-based data streaming. Access to data streams creates a faster, more scalable foundation for traveler servicing, operational consistency and future-ready automation.

For decades, TMCs have relied on queue-based systems to identify and process changes in passenger name records. While effective, that approach requires data to be pulled and processed after it appears in a queue. BCD has been advocating for a more modern model: one in which relevant travel events can be published through secure data streams and consumed more readily by the systems that support travelers, agents and clients. BCD’s advocacy, has helped accelerate the industry’s transition to event-driven streaming-based data delivery.

“By merging our expertise in technology, travel data and traveler servicing with our Amadeus and Sabre partnerships, we’ve collectively worked to modernize processes,” said John Palomino, senior vice president of Enterprise Development at BCD. “For years, travel data worked like checking your mailbox over and over to see whether a package had arrived. Streaming changes that. It’s like getting an instant notification the moment it’s delivered.”

For corporate travel programs, the approach is designed to support faster, more proactive disruption servicing by sending changes and cancellations directly into BCD’s Tripsource platform. Agents or automated workflows can act and alert travelers sooner. Combining NDC and EDIFACT data can also reduce duty-of-care blind spots and give travel managers a more current view of traveler location. Servicing teams can work from the latest booking information, helping prevent duplications and errors. More timely data can also give travel managers faster visibility into program spend and activity, without waiting for batch extracts.

“Real-time data distribution is transforming the way travel companies connect, collaborate and deliver value,” said Francesca Benati, senior vice president, Global Travel Sellers at Amadeus. “Through our close collaboration with BCD and a shared vision for a more connected travel ecosystem, we have accelerated the introduction of streaming capabilities that enable faster, richer, and more responsive interactions across the travel value chain. Together, we are helping advance the next generation of travel technology, delivering greater efficiency, agility and innovation for BCD and the wider travel industry.”

“Travel moves in real time, and the systems behind it have to keep pace,” said Dirk Guenther, vice president, Product Management at Sabre. “BCD shares our conviction that open platforms move the industry forward faster. By co-developing real-time data orchestration, we’re giving BCD and its clients the ability to act on signals the moment they happen, from smarter servicing to faster responses when trips shift. We’re excited to see these new capabilities add to the foundation for BCD’s next generation of AI-driven travel solutions and intelligent automation.”

The capability is currently being piloted and is designed to support BCD’s global operations through centralized consumption of data across relevant points of sale. As Amadeus and Sabre continue to expand their streaming capabilities, BCD expects the approach to further improve speed, consistency and scalability in how travel data is used to support clients.
