BCD maintains EcoVadis Platinum rating as the sustainability benchmark advances
Seventh consecutive top-tier recognition reflects sustained progress as assessment expectations and evidence requirements evolve
UTRECHT, The Netherlands, Oct. 27 – BCD Travel has once again earned a Platinum medal from EcoVadis, placing the travel management company among the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide. The recognition marks BCD’s seventh consecutive year at EcoVadis’ highest level.
EcoVadis determines medals by percentile rank at the time a scorecard is published, comparing each company against other organizations assessed during the preceding 12 months. As sustainability management systems mature across industries, the benchmark continues to move. Maintaining Platinum requires continued progress.
“Earning Platinum again is meaningful because it recognizes the discipline of our teams in turning commitments into documented action and measurable results,” said Olivia Ruggles-Brise, BCD’s vice president of Sustainability. “We will continue to strengthen our approach, not for a medal, but because transparent, responsible business practices create long-term value for our clients, our people and the communities in which we operate.”
EcoVadis’ 2026 methodology updates introduced greater granularity and traceability, a clearer risk-based approach, enhanced methodology disclosures and greater emphasis on the 360° Watch indicator (EcoVadis’ AI tool to analyze information in the public domain). These changes form part of an evolving assessment framework. At the same time, companies face growing expectations from clients and other stakeholders for credible, comparable information across environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Evidence of BCD’s progress includes reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2025 by 73.7% from its 2019 baseline and Scope 3 emissions by 19.7%. Renewable electricity also accounted for 42% of global electricity consumption, while 99% of employees completed annual human trafficking awareness training.
“Maintaining this recognition for a seventh consecutive year reflects the consistency and accountability behind our approach,” said Stephan Baars, BCD’s global chief executive officer. “Sustainability is part of how we run our business and plan for the future. We’ll keep improving the way we work and giving our clients practical solutions that help them make better travel choices for their businesses, their people and the planet”
