Spain's leading travel group Ávoris Corporación Empresarial and BCD Travel have expanded their strategic partnership to Portugal. Travel agency Barceló Viagens, part of the Ávoris group, is one of Portugal’s leading travel companies. As BCD’s exclusive official representative in Portugal and member of its Global Network, they will now operate as BCD Travel Portugal.

Leading travel management company BCD Travel published the fourth edition of its quarterly Travel Market Report. The Q4 report, dedicated to presenting an outlook for 2024, provides travel managers and buyers with insights on economic prospects, key risks, projected prices for air, hotel and car rental, sustainable travel trends, and more.

For the fourth consecutive year, BCD Travel has received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. With this Platinum rating, the travel management company (TMC) maintains its position in the top 1% of the 100,000+ companies assessed by EcoVadis. As part of the assessment, BCD has been rated as ‘Advanced’ in EcoVadis’ Carbon Action Module. The module is a comprehensive carbon management solution integrated with EcoVadis ratings to engage suppliers and drive decarbonization across the supply chain.

BCD Travel recently surveyed more than 100 travel buyers and almost 1,800 business travelers to gauge the importance of environmental sustainability in business travel. While 82% of companies have sustainability goals in place, only 45% have targets for sustainable business travel. Furthermore, only 20% of business travelers are aware of their company’s sustainable travel goals.

BCD Travel was recently named in FlexJobs’ Top 100 Hybrid Companies to Watch in 2023 for its hybrid workplace offering. The company also won a Silver in the 2023 Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards for its world-class intranet. Both recognitions demonstrate how BCD’s flexible, digital working environment empowers employees to connect and work efficiently around the world.

Scott Graf, Global President of BCD Meetings & Events (BCD M&E), will retire from the role after 26 years with the organization. Bruce Morgan, BCD M&E’s former Chief Operating Officer, has been named Global President.

BCD Travel today announced the launch of global guest travel management solution, BCD Invite. The digital tool is designed to simplify the time-consuming process of managing guest or “unprofiled” travelers in a program.

According to a recent BCD Travel survey of 164 travel buyers worldwide, the importance of travel and expense spend management has increased in priority, reaching its highest level since 2020. In 2023, 88% of buyers regarded payment & expense management as “very important” or “extremely important,” compared to 76% in 2021.
