BCD Travel appoints leaders for new European region, Global Network

UTRECHT, The Netherlands, September 22, 2020 – BCD Travel today announced two structural changes that reinforce the travel management company’s longstanding philosophy of providing expertise, partnership and innovation to customers at the global, regional and local levels, helping them navigate complexity and nuances across markets.

BCD will merge its European and United Kingdom & Ireland businesses to form a single European region, led by Mike Walley as President, Europe. Walley replaces Stewart Harvey, who will leave BCD later this month. In expanding his role over BCD’s owned entities in Europe, Walley will build on his strong track record as president of the former UKIE region over the past 14 years. In addition to his new role, Walley will continue to oversee BCD’s global media and entertainment division.

BCD will also consolidate its Global Network teams under Greg O’Neil as executive leader. As President, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa & Global Network, O’Neil will continue to oversee Asia Pacific in addition to his new responsibilities. O‘Neil brings to his new role years of expertise and involvement with BCD’s Network partners, most recently as executive sponsor for the Network since 2017.

Both Walley and O’Neil will continue reporting directly to John Snyder, BCD’s President and CEO, as members of the company’s global executive team.

“COVID-19 has changed the face of business travel, but BCD’s drive to enable our clients to be productive and collaborative hasn’t stopped,” Snyder said. “These changes reflect our commitment to aligning our organization with long-term business needs as well as shorter-term trends in travel demand.”

“Now more than ever, our clients need trusted advisors who can help them navigate the complexities of returning to travel,” Walley said.

“In moving to a single Global Network organization, we’ll improve the efficiency of Network management, foster more sustainable partnerships and improve communication, consistency and collaboration across the entire Network,” O’Neil added.

In line with BCD’s long-term commitment to deliver lasting value to clients, the company’s response to COVID-19 has focused on building traveler and travel manager confidence with increased access to real-time information, expanded traveler care offerings and solutions and assessments that allow travel managers to pivot quickly to serve and protect their company. Client-focused solutions include the COVID-19 Information Hub available via TripSource® desktop and mobile app and the Back to Travel digital guide; enhanced pre-trip authorization, duty of care and virtual payment offerings; and virtual event solutions (BCD Meetings & Events) and consulting practices (Advito) that help clients navigate the new future.
