BCD Travel to partner with videoconferencing leader Whygo
Global agreement paves way to integrate videoconferencing option into travel booking processes
ATLANTA, July 8, 2010 – BCD Travel, the third-largest corporate travel management company worldwide, today announced it has signed an agreement with Whygo, a leading provider of booking services for public videoconferencing facilities around the world.
Under the agreement, BCD Travel will offer clients the ability to book videoconferences at one of some 2,500 videoconferencing rooms and 40 telepresence facilities around the world. BCD Travel has already begun offering videoconference booking through an online travel booking tool in the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg). The company is exploring deployment of the service in other markets and through other travel booking channels.
“BCD Travel embraces the importance of offering travel alternatives that help companies contain costs and meet corporate social responsibility imperatives,” said Glenn Wastyn, BCD Travel’s commercial director for Belgium and Luxemburg. “In addition to supporting CSR goals and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, videoconferencing can help companies grow their business. By offering VC services at the point of sale, BCD Travel acts as a one-stop-shop for our clients’ face-to-face and virtual meetings.”
BCD Travel selected Whygo because of its proven customer service and broad inventory of publicly available videoconference facilities, as well as its ability to integrate and manage BCD Travel and customer-negotiated conferencing inventory.
