Stewart Harvey joins BCD Travel as president of EMEA region

UTRECHT, Netherlands, June 22, 2015 – BCD Travel announced today that corporate travel industry veteran Stewart Harvey will join the company as president of the EMEA region. He’ll join BCD’s other regional presidents—Mike Janssen for the Americas, Greg O’Neil for Asia Pacific and Mike Walley for U.K. and Ireland—as a member of President and CEO John Snyder’s global executive team.

Previous EMEA President Ilona De March decided earlier this month to leave BCD after 13 years, including nine years as president of the EMEA region.

Harvey comes to BCD after a long stint at U.K.-based travel management company HRG, where he most recently held the position of Group Commercial Director, responsible for strategic relationships with key clients, strategic sales and global bid support. His leadership resulted in significant overall business growth, as well as successes in the government and energy sectors.

Harvey will join BCD after he has fulfilled his contractual obligation to HRG. As president of EMEA, he’ll have full operational and financial responsibility for BCD’s activities across the region.

“I’m thrilled to join a company that’s been named by its peers as the ‘most admired TMC’ for three of the past five years,” said Harvey. “BCD stakes its brand and its reputation on being a trusted adviser to its clients at every level of the organization. It’s a true global player that’s poised for continued growth, and I’m excited to play a part in its development.”

“EMEA is key to our overall success,” said John Snyder, president and CEO of BCD. “It’s a region in which we service many of our largest multinational clients. And it’s home to a number of exciting initiatives that we’re undertaking in partnership with those customers. Stewart’s expertise and leadership will help us excel and grow as we continue to manage the accelerating changes in our industry and in the region.”

Snyder added, “I and many of my senior leaders worked closely with Stewart back in the days of WorldTravel BTI’s joint venture with HRG; it’s good to have him back on the team.”
