BCD Travel expands rail leadership in Europe through direct Deutsche Bahn integration and the launch of U.K. split ticketing in Tripsource
TMC’s customer-centric rail offering provides richer content, more savings and a better traveler experience
UTRECHT, The Netherlands, June 22, 2026 – BCD Travel today announced the direct integration of Deutsche Bahn and the launch of U.K. split ticketing into Tripsource, its AI-powered travel platform, expanding the value of the Tripsource booking experience across Europe through continued investment in rail technology and strategic partnerships.
“We’ve built a modern, scalable, customer-centric rail offering that aligns with how our customers want to shop, book and manage their journeys either online or offline, while also enabling more sustainable travel choices,” said Michèle Lawley, president of Europe at BCD. “It required long-term investments in our open platform, partnerships and experience that bring it all together.”
Rich rail content and direct integration
A direct Deutsche Bahn integration in Tripsource strengthens content depth in one of Europe’s most important rail markets, Germany. This foundation also extends through upcoming key initiatives that include the launch of SNCB and NS International content for the Benelux region in July and additional Deutsche Bahn capabilities available through BCD’s direct connection.
BCD’s rail content strategy focuses on deep integrations that increase both breadth and quality across key European markets. Established coverage with key providers, including U.K. Rail, SNCF in France and SBB in Switzerland, demonstrates the strength and maturity of the platform today.
Smart booking through split ticketing
In the U.K., BCD has made rail more accessible, affordable and competitive with the addition of split ticketing in Tripsource. Split ticketing automatically surfaces cost-efficient fare combinations without requiring manual searching, making rail easier to book and compare within the normal workflow. BCD data shows that about 35% of rail bookings now use split tickets, generating average savings of £21.50 per trip.
Smoother traveler experience
With its latest round of usability enhancements, BCD focused on rail capabilities to make shopping and booking more intuitive and personal for travelers. Tripsource now supports seat maps, giving travelers more visibility and confidence at the point of booking. Automated loyalty, discount card and corporate negotiated fare integrations seamlessly apply eligible savings within the booking flow.
“Tripsource also provides rail boarding passes directly in the app, simplifying the experience for travelers even further,” said Steph DeNote, senior vice president of Travel Commerce at BCD. “But the impact goes beyond convenience. As traveler satisfaction improves, so does adoption, which drives greater compliance and unlocks measurable savings. It’s a clear win for everyone involved.”
